Tackling Skills Gaps

Knowledge Sharing.

Welcome to the Elite Project & Programme Management Community. Working in partnership with the Scottish Government, our Community is a free resource committed to driving innovation and improvement in Project & Programme Management through knowledge sharing and professional networking.

Knowledge sharing is an essential ingredient to achieving success. It can improve decision-making capabilities, identify skills gaps, help to build learning organisations and stimulate innovation and positive change.

Peer to peer knowledge sharing is especially impactful when expertise is scarce. Knowledge and skills that are passed between colleagues, learners or co-workers are especially effective due to their extreme relevancy and timeliness.

Upcoming Events.

Wednesday, 7th October 2026, from 13:00pm - 14:00pm
Risk Management: From Firefighting to Foresight

Every project carries risk. The difference between a project that absorbs a setback and one that’s derailed by it usually comes down to whether the risk was spotted before it arrived.

Elite Training invites you to our upcoming seminar, exclusively for the Elite Project & Programme Management Community:

๐Ÿ—“ Date: Wednesday, October 7th, 2025
โฐ Time: 1:00pm โ€“ 2:00pm (UK time)
๐ŸŽ™ Speaker: Steven Gardener, experienced project management professional

You don’t need heavyweight processes or specialist software. A simple, cost-effective risk management procedure โ€” applied consistently โ€” gives any project a materially better chance of success.

In this focused one-hour seminar, Steven will walk you through a procedure you can put to work the same afternoon:

  • Identifying the risks your project is genuinely exposed to
  • Assessing each one for impact and likelihood
  • Building mitigation strategies that reduce or remove the threat
  • Monitoring and controlling risk across the full project lifecycle

Left unmanaged, project risk tends to surface as:

  • Cost overruns and slipped deadlines
  • Scope creep and falling quality
  • Frustrated stakeholders and lost confidence
  • Projects that stall, or fail outright

One hour now can save months of firefighting later.

At Elite Training, we understand that every client is different and as such customise training solutions to suit your individual requirements. We are interested in building strong, long lasting business relationships based on high quality training and customer care. We pride ourselves on responding quickly to queries and providing advice on all your training requirements.

We’ve spent the last 13 years building a diverse client base with an almost equal split between public and private sector contracts. We’ve worked extensively across all branches of Scottish Government, local government and the NHS. We’re also proud to have met the training needs ofย  private sector organisations such as TSB, Telegraph Media Group and BNP Paribas.

Our main business is conducted with mid-to-large companies and organisations, which are more inclined to invest in training and tend to have cohesive learning development plans.

We believe in improving organisational productivity through the reduction of skills gaps and tackling workforce skill shortages.ย  Our role in helping clients address these issues has led to tangible productivity and skills improvements across the whole of our client portfolio.
